Starting at the end of July, two top American junior hammer throwers will embark on a journey to Szombathely, Hungary. For four weeks Nathan Rolfe and Boldizsáar Kocsor will learn from coaches and athletes at the the modern "mecca of hammer throwing" and occasional post updates on Hammerthrow.org. The training center in Szombathely is an IAAF accredited training center and has produced outstanding results in recent years. The town just over 100,000 residents and has produced five 80 meter hammer throwers in the past ten years. The head coach at the training center is Pal Nemeth and former European champion Tibor Gecsek is the director. Below is some information about Nathan and Boldi.

Nathan RolfeNathan Rolfe

Height: 6'2" (187 cm)

Nathan Rolfe was the high school national champion in the hammer throw in 2004 and placed third at the USATF Junior National Championships. He recently graduated from Inglemoor High School. Next season he will be attending the University of California at Berkeley. Nathan also is an accomplished shot putter and discus thrower. He has thrown over 60 feet (18.25m) with the 12 pound (5.45k) shot put and 206 feet (62.75m) with the 1.6k discus. Nathan has only been throwing the hammer for two seasons.

Boldizsar KocsorBoldizsár Kocsor

This was Boldiszar Kocsor's first season throwing the hammer and he produced great results that culminated in a fourth place finish at the USATF Junior National Championships. Boldiszar graduated from University City high school in June and will attend the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) next season. There he will train under the tutelage of Art Venegas. Boldiszar also has thrown the 12 pound shout put 63 feet (19.20m). Boldiszar is competant in Hungarian and his family has Hungarian heritage.
